Will an RMSc red dot fit my pistol?

The RMSc footprint is commonly used on slimline and micro-compact optics-ready pistols, but always verify your specific slide cut before ordering. Mounting screws and recoil-post configurations can differ between pistol models even when they are described as RMSc compatible.

For the Nautilus: Choose either the RMSc version or the 407K/507K-compatible version based on your handgun's optic cut.
Is the RMSc footprint the same as the Holosun 407K/507K footprint?

Not exactly. The Holosun K footprint used by optics such as the 407K and 507K is closely related to the RMSc pattern, but the mounting geometry differs. This is why some K-footprint optics require an RMSc-to-K adapter plate when installed on an RMSc slide.

For the Nautilus2: Triton offers dedicated RMSc and 407K/507K footprint options, so you can select the version designed for your mounting pattern.
Do I need an adapter plate?

It depends on the handgun and the footprint of the optic. A matching direct-mount footprint can eliminate the need for an adapter, while mismatched footprints generally require a compatible plate. Direct mounting can also keep the optic lower on the slide.

For the Nautilus: Select the footprint that matches your optics-ready slide for the simplest installation.
Do I have to remove the red dot to change the battery?

That depends on the optic. Traditional RMSc designs commonly use batteries underneath the sight, requiring optic removal for replacement. Newer designs increasingly use side- or top-access batteries specifically so the optic can remain mounted during a battery change.

For the Nautilus: No. The top-loading battery can be replaced without removing the optic, helping preserve your mounting position and zero.
Can I still use my iron sights with an RMSc red dot?

Potentially. Co-witness depends on the optic's deck height, slide cut, and the height of your front and rear sights. Some low-deck RMSc optics are specifically designed to co-witness with factory-height sights.

For the Nautilus RMSc: The integrated rear backup sight gives you an additional aiming reference while keeping the optic compact.
